My hard drive failed on my 2009 MacBook Pro last week. I looked over reviews and decided on the Samsung 850 EVO SSD. I did have my drive backed up on Time Machine, but the new SSD had to be installed cold turkey. The install went fine and I had a Snow Leopard disk in the drawer to boot with. I was able to find the drive under disk utilities and partition with GUID no problems. However during Snow Leopard install I get an error message about 10 min into it saying Install Failed OS X could not be installed on your machine. I also tried a direct Restore from utilities drop down and received an error message a few minutes in.
